My journey into the world of lo-fi production has been quite an interesting one. Initially, I had a somewhat strained relationship with this genre, as I hesitated to fully embrace its style. However, throughout this musical exploration, I consistently crafted tranquil tracks that were personally captivating, although they might not have resonated with a broader audience.
Nevertheless, as time passed, I came to a pivotal realization. I discovered a sweet spot where I could authentically express myself through the creation of music that encompassed both my unique vision and the essence of what defines lo-fi. And ever since that moment of clarity, my passion for lo-fi hip hop production has only grown stronger. I am now deeply invested in this creative journey, continually seeking new ways to evolve my sound and connect with a wider audience through the beauty of lo-fi.

- What is your name and where are you from?
- We know you also have project called Zrmpa. Could you please tell the folks more about it?
Zrmpa was my first step into the world of music - it was my start. This project is experimental and aims to create new sounds and genres. Recently, Zrmpa celebrated its tenth anniversary, and I am proud to admit that I do not plan to complete it. I have a lot of thoughts and ideas on how to develop this project further.
However, right now my full focus is on the development of my second projects, such as Gentle Pillow and Crystal Flower. At the moment, I would like to tell you a little about Crystal Flower - it is a unique neo-house style project with elements of synthwave. I am passionate about making music in this genre and strive to bring fresh ideas to its sound. I hope that my music will bring joy to the listeners, and I will be happy to share this musical journey with my audience.
However, right now my full focus is on the development of my second projects, such as Gentle Pillow and Crystal Flower. At the moment, I would like to tell you a little about Crystal Flower - it is a unique neo-house style project with elements of synthwave. I am passionate about making music in this genre and strive to bring fresh ideas to its sound. I hope that my music will bring joy to the listeners, and I will be happy to share this musical journey with my audience.
This is truly an amazing story. I was initially pretty neutral towards music and listened to artists like Cryoshell, Pitbull, Lil Jon and LMFAO.
One day, while I was downloading demo games on my Xbox 360, I came across a game called DJ Hero, made by the same people who made Guitar Hero. In this game I discovered an interesting character - DJ without a head, and then he put on a helmet in the shape of a mouse's head. This mysterious character intrigued me, and I decided to find out more about his story.
When I saw him perform with giant display cubes that were visually stunning in their beauty, and heard the penetrating music he created using synthesizers, my perception of music radically changed. This simplicity, the novelty of the sound and the originality of his performance hooked me forever.
It was deadmau5. The key moment for me was Skrillex. I still remember the first time I heard his remix of the track “Promises” from the group Nero. This sound completely opened up new horizons for me and showed me that the possibilities in music are endless. He inspired me to strive to create unique and exciting works that will delight people in the future. Music has become not just a hobby for me, but a source of endless inspiration and creative self-expression.

- How did you come music in general?
Inspiration comes in different ways. Sometimes it's enough to hear someone else's melody, and I'm overcome by the desire to create something new, unlike the original. But most often the image is born already in the process of work. I am inspired by the very process of creating music, not by specific life situations or works by other authors.
- What images or situations inspire you to make music and how do you portray what inspires you in music?

I pick a chord or key that I like. I try to make drops with a simple melody or with interesting synths from which it turns out to make a small development. Most of the time, I start with the drop part, and then move on to the intro and so on.
Our team set up a brainstorm to find out as many ways as possible to start a project and find ideas.
1. Playing an instrument: If you have musical instruments at home, playing random melodies can be a great way to find inspiration. You can also play along with your favorite tracks and find a key that suits you. This doesn't require much skill and is a great way to get started.
2. Sample Granulation: Sample granulation is a technique that involves taking existing sounds and manipulating them in different ways. This can lead to the creation of interesting sounds and textures that can be used in your music. We recommend using plugins like Imagiro and Portal for this.
3. Delay: Delay can be an underappreciated tool in music production. It can add depth and interest to even the simplest of tracks. Try experimenting with different settings and see what works for you. Even the built-in delay plugins in your digital audio workstation (DAW) can be useful to start with.
4. Chord Sorting in Piano Roll: Most DAWs have pre-made chord libraries that can help you if you don't have a strong grasp of music theory. These can be a helpful resource for creating melodies and harmonies.By going through the chords, you can find interesting parts. It's a painful but always rewarding way!
